About AACI
The Arab-American Cultural Institute
(AACI) is a non-profit
"(501
(c)(3)), non-sectarian, and non-partisan cultural organization
formed in 2002, with a .mission to foster and highlight Arab and
Arab-American cultural contributions.
It is estimated that there are over 3 million Arab and
Arab-Americans living in the United States. Arab culture
encompasses that of over 20 countries which, when woven together,
create a rich fabric of culture, history, music and art.
As Arabs and Arab-Americans, we are aware that our rich history
and culture form a strong fabric that binds us and gives us a
great sense of collective pride. By highlighting this cultural
heritage and sharing it within our own communities, as well as
within the larger American community, we hope to expand the
appreciation of Arab and Arab-American
culture - and also form bridges between east
and west.
AACI seeks
to:
• Provide opportunities for individuals
and communities to learn more about the Arab world.
• Promote and highlight activities related to the Arab-American
community in Minnesota.
• Serve as a resource on Arabs and the Arab-American experience,
culture, and arts.
• Foster community discussion and dialogue.
• Provide financial support to individuals and organizations
engaging in artistic or cultural activities that celebrate Arab
and Arab-American culture.
Mission Statement
The AACI serves as a bridge
between the American and Arab communities by providing
opportunities to learn more about the Arab world and by
highlighting Arab and Arab-American cultural
contributions. |
